The Other Map of Amsterdam (23-11)

StorytellingTour

Tour of unknown and cool religious sites with thick stories.

Discover hidden religious highlights of the city during a special city walk Amsterdam has been a crossroads for people from all corners of the world for centuries. The city gained its unique character thanks to the many religions, cultures and rituals that residents and visitors brought with them. This rich diversity is still visible in the cityscape. Together with VU University Amsterdam, Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder developed a special digital map, The Other Map of Amsterdam, which brings the city's religious heritage to life. In honor of 750 years of Amsterdam, the museum is offering an exclusive preview of this map. Over the next year, the map will be filled with fascinating stories, photos, films and podcasts depicting all religious communities - past and present. During a city walk past meaningful locations, you will discover places and stories that remain hidden to most Amsterdam residents.

On Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November, during The Spirit of Amsterdam, the curatorial team of Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder will personally guide you along unique religious treasures of the city. A chance to experience Amsterdam as never before!
