The Last Stop

A loving festival about saying goodbye and mourning

Death, we prefer not to talk about it. Yet it is inseparable from life. That is why, during Festival de Laatste Halte, we make death ordinary. By talking about goodbyes and mourning, and how these are handled in different cultures, we become aware that death is the most normal thing in the world. You're going to have fun, too!

On Saturday, we kick off with a frank conversation about grief, followed by a communal dinner that provides the space to engage in conversation with one another once again. As evening falls, a play about death and loss will undoubtedly make you reflect on the end of life. But don't worry, this is not a somber affair. It promises to be an eye-opening experience that may also loosen tongues!

Sunday we will begin with a beautiful service and after that it is possible to get even more inspiration at the marketplace. You can walk around, chat with others, and listen to special stories about saying goodbye at different places in the building. And that's not all! Our cultural program is filled with great music, a book launch, and theater performances about grief and caregiving.

Festival the Last Stop provides a safe space for both deep and light-hearted conversations about a topic we often avoid, but cannot escape in life. You are welcome to participate, or simply listen. Relax, talk and come to new insights about what the last stop on life's journey means to you.
