Located in the chapel of OLVG East hospital, this extraordinary installation by Anne ten Ham offers a unique experience in which water, architecture and silence come together.
A basin filled with water reflects the chapel's impressive columns, creating an illusion of depth that invites contemplation and wonder. The play of reflection creates a new dimension in this already serene space.
At Friday's opening, eight extras, known as The Watchmen, will stand barefoot in the basin. Their silent presence subtly sets the surface of the water in motion, distorting the reflections of both themselves and the architecture. This hushed performance invites visitors to contemplate their own inner reflections, the fragility of life and the meaning of connection and compassion.
It offers visitors a chance to unwind and reflect on life in a busy environment. Whether you are a patient, visitor or local resident, this work invites everyone to experience a moment of stillness and connection.
Reflection III is free to visit throughout the festival weekend.
