The Spirit presents: Mystic Night (with Niyaz & Wasim Arslan)

DanceConcertSpecial

An evening to return to yourself.

In a world full of incentives and superficial kicks, offers Mystic Night a different kind of ecstasy. No alcohol. No exhaustion. But the natural intoxication of rhythm, trance and connection.

In the magical space of De Duif in Amsterdam, you will be taken on a deep musical journey. Hypnotic Persian and Arabic Sufi music fuses with contemporary electronic sounds. You dance, you slow down, you turn inward - and at the same time you are carried by something bigger than yourself.

Mystic Night is inspired by the thought of Rabia al-Basri (8th century), a female Sufi mystic. She introduced the idea of divine love as the core of spiritual practice - independent of fear, guilt or reward. Her vision is the foundation of this evening: dance and music as a serious form of spiritual concentration. Not entertainment, but a moment of surrender and stillness within a contemporary entertainment context.

Pre-program:

🟣 Wasim Arslan & Midist (NL / SY / LB)
A collective of Arab musicians based in the Netherlands, known for their performance ARWAH: The Return to Oneness. Their live show moves between animated vocals, deep electronics and acoustic instruments such as ney and daff. During Mystic Night, they will present their new EP.

Main program:

🟣 Niyaz (US / IR)
The Iranian-American band centered around singer Azam Ali brings a unique sound that fuses ancient Sufi poetry and traditional melodies with contemporary electronica. This evening is a tribute to Rabia al-Basri - mystic, poet and pioneer of divine love.

🟣 Ahmad Joudeh (PS / SY / NL / US)
Dancer, choreographer, and human rights activist Ahmad Joudeh has developed a unique dance style combining Arabic dance and classical ballet. The result? Emotional, fluid movements full of grace and beauty.
