What would it be like to experience your own funeral? On Remembrance Sunday, Nov. 24, you get the chance to do a little test run, or test lying. Yes, you read it right - in the Keizersgracht Church, a beautiful coffin from studio De Witte Veer will be waiting for you. In this way, we reflect in a special way on death, the only certainty we have in life.
Step into the box, and surrounded by your favorite music and a party of up to 5 people, you'll get a taste of the big final show.
This will be an intimate experience that invites you to engage in a conversation about your own mortality. What would you want to happen in that moment? What rituals make your funeral special?
Afterwards, there will be room for reflection and we would love to share your thoughts on the meaning of saying goodbye. Discover how together we are shaping Amsterdam's rituals anno 2024.
