The Oosterparkkerk is located on the west side of the Oosterpark in Amsterdam, in the Oosterpark neighborhood. Architect Abraham Salm (1857-1915) designed a simple hall church with verger's house on the corner of the Oosterpark and the Tweede Boerhaavestraat in 1902 - commissioned by the Mennonite Municipality of Amsterdam. The Mennonite Congregation used this second church next to the Singelkerk, which is still in use. Before 1900, Salm designed mainly in an eclectic style. Then he was influenced by newer styles such as Jugendstil, which was also used at the Mennonite Oosterpark Church. The use of different arch forms in the wall openings can be seen in several of Salm's works. He often made use of natural stone in his designs.
