The Westermosque is a Turkish mosque in Amsterdam's West district. According to the original plan, this mosque would be part of a collaborative project between the then Amsterdam borough of De Baarsjes, the Turkish-Islamic organization Milli Görüş and housing corporation Het Oosten (now merged into Stadgenoot). In addition to a mosque, the plan included the construction of housing and commercial space. After a tumultuous development period, construction of the mosque began in April 2013. On April 1, 2016, the West Mosque was opened.
